Without the proper tools, planning a trip abroad is full of hassle and can get very expensive. The experience of living abroad can also get very lonely for a lot of people. Project Sabbatical is born to solve these issues.
After living in over 30 cities combined, The Founders agreed that living abroad has been life-changing, yet very challenging. It's extremely difficult to look for a great place to stay, meet friends, and plan for the entire journey as an outsider.
Through Airbnb, you only get the accommodation. Plus, you have the hassle of going through the housing options yourself, and live the entire experience all alone.
With Project Sabbatical, not only you get a curated home that is centrally located, secure, and verified for mid-long term comfort, but also you'll get access to our built-in local community, local experiences, and concierge-level support available anytime on WhatsApp.
You have the option to pay in full, pay a deposit and the rest later, or with a payment plan (depending on how far in advance you make the booking).

Booking Protection
*Available starting January 2025. You will have the ability to protect your booking during checkout and request to be reimbursed should they need to cancel if something goes wrong- such as the followings: (i) Unexpected transit delays or strikes. (ii) Injury, illness, or death of customer or member of immediate family. (iii) Customer is required as a carer for another ill or injured ticket holder. (iv) Unexpected deployment as member of the armed forces. (iv) Pregnancy.
Travel Insurance
It is mandatory for all travellers to have a travel insurance that covers the entire duration of your stay. Please contact your preferred insurance provider, or book a plan with our partner at World Nomads.
We acknowledge that your plans may be subject to change, which is why we provide the following cancellation policy:
A cancellation is considered effective when we receive written confirmation of the cancellation via email at booking@project-sabbatical.com. If you cancel a trip, the following cancellation fees will apply based on the date we receive your written confirmation:
91 days or more before departure: Deposit is non-refundable and will be issued as "Travel Credit" on your account, which can be transferred to another trip.
90-61 days before departure: 25% of the trip cost is non-refundable. Any additional amount paid will be refunded or given as travel credit.
60-31 days before departure: 50% of the trip cost is non-refundable. Any additional amount paid will be refunded or given as travel credit.
30 days or less before departure: No refund is possible.
We do not take security deposit, however for any damage incurred by you to the accommodation- it will be your responsibility to flag any damage from your check-in. We reserve the right to charge up to the total value of your booking.

It's quite common for our travellers to make an extension- especially when they're having the time of their lives.
Depending on availability, you may extend your stay beyond your initial Sabbatical month for up to 6 months, and save big on monthly rate after your first month.
Please let our team know if you'd like to extend as soon as possible. We only accept extension depending on availability, and subject to the current market rate and vendor's dynamic pricing.
Yes, generally overnight visitors are allowed for a maximum of three nights for each chapter- with a prior notice to our team.
If your guest would like to stay longer, it is best to use our group discounts. If you bring a friend, each of you will save 30% if you stay in one room, or save 10% each if you stay in separate rooms.
Guests are not eligible to take part in any of the local experiences. Depending on the activity, we might be able to make some exceptions and allow guest to join an experience for an additional fee.
The best option is to bring a friend to your chapter, and enjoy our group discounts. Each of you will save 30% if you stay in one room, or if you stay in separate rooms, you'll save 10%.
Within 24h, you'll receive a confirmation email and get access to our booking manager right away.
Within one month from the starting date, you'll be contacted by your dedicated Local Host who will help you prepare for your trip- anything from helping to plan your months ahead, to getting tips in advance. They are just one WhatsApp message away.
Additionally, you can also contact our booking team at booking@project-sabbatical.com if you'd like to amend your reservation.
You can book any extra amenities such as gym membership, coworking space, bicycle rental, etc- as well as extra experiences.
Everything is done with our Local Host, and can be done before or after the starting date, giving you the flexibility to only get what you need as you go.
Within a week before your arrival day, you'll already receive your check-in instruction to enter your new home. You'll also receive your welcome kit and any extra amenity that you have requested, such as sim-card and metro pass.
If you requested for an airport pickup with our local host, a driver will be waiting for you based on your given arrival time- and will take you straight to your apartment.
Typically, within the first week, we'll host a Welcome Meetup where you can meet your local host and other members of our local community over a dinner or a drink social.
Everyday is a free-day. Customize your schedule the way you want. All included experiences and meetups are optional, giving you complete control to jam-pack your schedule or go with the flow.
You'll get all the essentials you need to comfortably live, work, and immerse in a new destination for a month, or longer.

We offer extra amenities that you can book before, or after the starting date of your trip, so that you can keep your lifestyle abroad. The amenities will vary per destination.
We work with some of the best local property managers in every destination to source centrally located homes that's comfortable for mid-long term stay.
Depending on the destinations, we typically provide private apartment, shared apartment, and budget rooms in every location.
You'll have access to a built-in local community connected over WhatsApp group, and a series of our included meetups and group experiences.
Every booking comes with a dedicated local host who you can always rely on. From booking extra amenities, to restaurant recommendations- you can just contact them anytime on WhatsApp.
All of our homes are verified to be work-ready, with reliable wifi and dedicated desk so that you can work from the comfort of your home.
According to our community survey, only a few people use coworking spaces frequently enough to make a month-long membership worthwhile. To ensure you're not paying for something you won't fully use, we've out coworking as an extra amenity.
Please contact your Local Host to get a preferred rate from the best coworking option with the best location.
Depending on the destination, we offer carious transport amenity as extras.
Typically in most destinations, airport pickups, bicycle rentals, and metro pass are available. Easily request straight to your local host before or after the starting date.
Powered by the award winning travel collective Hyperlocal, we've Clubhouse- an experience hub with +300 experiences available across our destinations that you can easily book with your local host.
Every booking comes with a set of four Clubhouse activities, one from each categories (sport, adventure, super, and culture)- happening every week.
