In the neighbourhood: Marquês de Pombal

A calm yet central Lisbon neighborhood, well connected to Saldanha, Campo Pequeno, and the city’s main commercial hubs. With tree-lined avenues, cozy cafés, and nearby green spaces like Eduardo VII Park, it’s a perfect spot to work, explore, and settle into local life.

Holmes Place

Housed in a restored Sotto Maior palace on Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo, Holmes Place is our Lisbon Sabbatical's official fitness centre. It features state-of-the-art equipment, a hydrotherapy pool, spacious studios—including the city’s largest for spinning—and a full spa to unwind after a workout.

Museu Calouste Gulbenkian

Hidden in the heart of Lisbon’s Avenidas Novas, this is a local favorite for a quiet cultural break. Set within beautifully landscaped gardens, it houses one of Europe’s finest private art collections—ranging from Egyptian artifacts to Monet and Lalique. Just a short stroll away.

Parque Eduardo VII

It's Lisbon’s largest central park, stretching over 26 hectares just north of Avenida da Liberdade. It’s a favorite local escape for our community morning runs, quiet reading sessions, or simply soaking up panoramic views of the city and the Tagus River.

Avenida da Liberdade

Lisbon’s grandest boulevard—lined with designer boutiques, historic cafés, and wide, tree-shaded sidewalks. It connects the city’s downtown to Marquês de Pombal, blending old-world charm with cosmopolitan flair. Our Supper Club favorites are JNcQUOI Avenida and its sister Asian resto next door, two elegant spots in seriously stylish surroundings.
