What’s the weather like during the trip?
East Africa offers beautiful weather year-round. Rwanda and Uganda are cooler, especially in the mornings and evenings, with mild temperatures between 18°C to 25°C (64°F to 77°F). Kenya's coastal areas, like Mombasa, are warmer with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C (77°F to 86°F). Be prepared for occasional rain showers, particularly in the highlands.
What should I pack?
Pack light, breathable clothing for the day, but also bring layers for the evenings when temperatures can drop. Comfortable golf attire, golf shoes, and a hat are essential. Don't forget sunscreen, sunglasses, and insect repellent. If you're planning to explore the safari-like courses at Vipingo, comfortable footwear for walking is recommended, and bring swimwear for hotel pools.
Are golf clubs provided, or should I bring my own?
While you’re welcome to bring your own golf clubs, most hotels and golf courses provide rental clubs. If you prefer to travel light, let us know in advance and we’ll ensure quality rentals are available for you.
Will there be any wildlife encounters during the trip?
Yes! Particularly at Vipingo Ridge, you’ll encounter wild animals roaming the course, including giraffes, zebras, and antelope. These animals are part of the unique charm of the course, offering a safari experience while you play.
How fit do I need to be for this trip?
This trip is suitable for golfers of all levels. The courses vary in difficulty, but none require extreme physical exertion. A basic level of fitness and comfort walking around the courses will ensure you have an enjoyable experience.
About East Africa
Do I need a visa?
Visa requirements vary by nationality. Most travelers to Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya can obtain a visa upon arrival or apply for an East African Tourist Visa, which covers all three countries. Check with your local embassy for specific visa requirements before departure.
Is it safe to travel to these countries?
Yes, Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya are popular tourist destinations, and safety is a priority. We work closely with local partners to ensure your comfort and security throughout the journey. Always follow local guidelines and take usual precautions, as you would when traveling anywhere.
What is the best time to visit?
The best time to visit is during the dry seasons, from June to October and December to March, when the weather is perfect for golf and sightseeing. However, each season offers something unique, and East Africa’s beauty is a year-round experience.
Will I need to exchange currency?
It’s a good idea to exchange some local currency for small purchases. In Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya, the respective local currencies are the Rwandan Franc (RWF), Ugandan Shilling (UGX), and Kenyan Shilling (KES). Most hotels and golf courses also accept credit cards
