How big is the group size?
Group sizes range from 5–15, depending on the destination and season.
If fewer than 5 participants join, we’ll include you in more local activities—dinners, meetups, and sports—making it easier to connect with locals, which many of our travelers prefer.
What's the payment policy?
You have the option to pay in full, pay a deposit and the rest later, or with a payment plan (depending on how far in advance you make the booking).
When is the latest I can book?
Each month has a limited capacity, so we recommend you securing your spot as soon as possible- especially for our most popular months: May - September.
Bookings typically close 30days before the chapter's starting date. However, you can try to request to join within this period by contacting us- and we may accept you based on availability.
Can I cancel?
We acknowledge that your plans may be subject to change, which is why we provide the following cancellation policy:
A cancellation is considered effective when we receive written confirmation of the cancellation via email at sabbatical@hyperlocal.world.
If you cancel a trip, the following cancellation fees will apply based on the date we receive your written confirmation: 91 days or more before departure: Deposit is non-refundable and will be issued as "Travel Credit" on your account, which can be transferred to another trip.
90-61 days before departure: 25% of the trip cost is non-refundable. Any additional amount paid will be refunded or given as travel credit.
60-31 days before departure: 50% of the trip cost is non-refundable. Any additional amount paid will be refunded or given as travel credit.
30 days or less before departure: No refund is possible.
We cannot provide refunds for any unused portion of your trip if you are quarantined or a supplier refuses services due to illness, symptoms, or test results for an infectious disease.
