About

Located in northern Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area spans over 8,200 km² of highland plains, savannah, and forests. It is famous for the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest unbroken volcanic caldera, offering a unique enclosed ecosystem. The area supports wildlife coexisting with Maasai pastoralists who practice traditional livestock grazing.


Wildlife

The park is home to the entire Big Five, including a rare population of black rhinos. It also hosts large herds of wildebeest, zebra, Thompson’s gazelle, and predators such as lions and leopards. With over 400 bird species and significant archaeological sites like Olduvai Gorge, it is rich in biodiversity and cultural history.
