SUSTAINABILE SABBATICAL

We're here to solve it.

We have won two global awards by UN Tourism and the United Nations, chosen out of 11,000 participants across 137 countries, for showing our ability to reduce over tourism and promote a more sustainable travel.

UN Tourism X Hyperlocal - Project Sabbatical

Co-Founder Sevo Widodo proposed the the concept of Project Sabbatical at the United Nations Tourism assembly in Madrid, in front of more than 100 industry leaders, including the Secretary General, Mayor of Madrid, and Tourism Ministers of Brazil, Portugal, Panama, and Qatar- where we gained the initial support required to start Project Sabbatical. Meet our Founders.

Shifting consumer habits.

Our innovative month-long stay packages, are helping to change traveller's consumption habits- from taking a lot of small trips, to taking less trips with longer duration and more purpose. Why only visit Nairobi for a three-days safari, when you can stay for a month and live like a local.

Putting local community first.

We prioritize local communities and their unique culture, over the mainstream touristy activities. From fishing with local fishermen in Rio, to making handicrafts with Balinese artisans, we promote social inclusions across all of our cities.

Driving sustainable interactions.

By including local communities to lead some of our activities, we help them promote their culture, monetize their craft, and for us to deliver more authentic experiences.
