About
Spanning about 13,500 km² of Congo Basin rainforest, the park features undisturbed tropical forest ecosystems vital for biodiversity. It hosts one of Africa’s largest populations of western lowland gorillas and other threatened species. Wildlife
Home to western lowland gorillas, chimpanzees, forest elephants, leopards, bongos, and sitatungas. Rich birdlife includes Congo peafowl and various forest specialists. The park sustains a key part of Congo Basin wildlife heritage.
