About
Covering 360 km², Ol Pejeta is a not-for-profit conservancy blending wildlife conservation with community development. Situated at the foot of Mount Kenya, it offers diverse habitats from grasslands to riverine forests. It is renowned for protecting endangered black rhinos and hosting the world’s last two northern white rhinos. Ol Pejeta pioneered coexistence between livestock ranching and wildlife protection while supporting community livelihoods.
Wildlife
Ol Pejeta Conservancy shelters the Big Five and houses the largest black rhino population in East Africa. Visitors can also see lions, elephants, giraffes, and rare northern white rhinos. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary offers refuge to rescued chimpanzees, unique in Kenya. Wildlife tracking, game drives, and conservation activities enrich the visitor experience.
